The Oxford and Cambridge University Boat Clubs have confirmed their fixtures ahead of The Gemini Boat Race 2022.
The first step on the final road towards the 2022 Gemini Boat Race begins on Sunday at Henley-on-Thames where Cambridge University Boat Club Men’s ‘A’ line up take on the might of Leander Club. Fixture season has begun in earnest.
Each season, the four Coaches of the Oxford and Cambridge squads will invite other teams to race their ‘A’ and ‘B’ line ups. These races form vital experience and preparation for the crews, with races taking place on The Championship Course or elsewhere. With Coaches looking for opportunities to test the crew performance, these races are a key element in the annual selection process for a seat in a crew. With less than 10 weeks to go until The Gemini Boat Race 2022, every student athlete will be looking for an opportunity to make an impression on the Coaches and to finish the series of races with a full set of wins.
The 2022 series of fixtures has attracted some of the best teams in the world to race Oxford and Cambridge; Leander, Oxford Brookes, Imperial College and from overseas, University of Washington USA and Nereus Rowing Club, Amsterdam. This season promises to deliver some of the most exciting racing ever seen between The Boat Race squads and top performing rowers from around the world.
