Tim Senior, Chair of BRCL (Boat Race Company Limited) the company that delivers The Boat Race said
“It was an honour to be at the helm of BRCL as we brought The Boat Race home to London, and I am very grateful to the many groups and individuals who helped us make that happen. We saw some exceptional performances on the day from eight high performing crews. It was a joy to see the banks of the Thames lined with supporters once again, the broadcast coverage from the BBC was excellent and we know that people from over 200 countries around the world tuned in to watch. I am looking forward to building on this success in 2023.
"The Boat Race is a thriving, enduring part of our nation’s sporting heritage which has a national and global resonance far beyond its rowing roots. Our excellent roster of Race Partners, supporters and volunteers means that The Gemini Boat Race 2023 promises to be bigger and better than ever.
"There is nothing quite like The Boat Race – where else do Olympians and World Champions race alongside athletes who may have picked up an oar for the very first time at university… all in the pursuit of a place in the history books.”
