About Oliver:

Why did you choose History?

I am fascinated by how broad history is and all there is that can be learnt. In so far as one studies history, you can never really ‘know history’. Asking questions and analysing historical patterns and phenemona interests me. I find the critical thinking and analytical elements of the course interesting, and the way in which it is taught – through a mixture of lectures, supervisions and independent thought – allows you the freedom to investigate for yourself.

Why did you first try rowing?

Signed up to my college boat club’s ‘taster day’ and have never looked back

Who introduced you to the sport of rowing?

Rose Sargent/William Miller at King’s College Boat Club

Where else have you rowed?

Twickenham Rowing Club

What are your proudest rowing achievements?

So far, winning blades in May Bumps last year

What would winning The Boat Race mean to you?

Everything
