About Lilli:
Why did you choose DPhil Atmospheric Physics?
I am pursuing a DPhil in Atmospheric Physics, working on improving global climate models to make climate predictions more accurate. I am specifically interested in improving the representation of clouds in climate models as clouds are the largest source of uncertainty in our predictions of future climate. We need to improve our physical understanding of clouds to know how our climate will change both globally and regionally, and to best prepare for it.
Why did you first try rowing?
Coming back to Edinburgh after my year abroad at UBC in Vancouver, where I ski raced for the university team, I wanted to find a sport I could do competitively at university. The novice programme run by EUBC was the perfect fit.
Who introduced you to the sport of rowing?
Michael Hughes at Edinburgh University Boat Club
Where else have you rowed?
I came to Oxford straight from Edinburgh.
What are your proudest rowing achievements?
Winning the Novice 4x and 8+ at BUCS 2021.
Do you have a favourite Boat Race? Which one and why?
/
What would winning The Boat Race mean to you?
It would mean achieving the goal that we’ve worked towards for months and years.
