About Eloise:

What course are you studying and what level?

BA natural sciences

Why did you chose that course?

Found myself interested by both physics and chemistry and wanted to explore both further and thought the natural sciences course at Cambridge was excellent for this.

When, where and why did you start rowing? And what do you love about the sport?

April 2021 at Globe Rowing Club, coming out of lockdown I wanted to be involved in a sport with other people again and I’ve always wanted to go to Cambridge so I’d heard about rowing through the boat race so thought I’d give it a go. I think rowing squads can be some of the most supportive and enjoyable groups to be apart of, the sport itself is definitely challenging but it’s the people that really make me look forward to sessions and I love the feeling that everyone is working hard towards a common goal.

What was your first rowing club and coach?

Globe Rowing Club, Maurice Coughlan

What or who was the earliest sporting inspiration you remember as a child?

Adam Peaty
