What course are you studying and what level?
MPhil in Education

Why did you chose that course?
I am interested in access to high performance sport through education.

When, where and why did you start rowing? And what do you love about the sport?
I did a brief stint at Simon Fraser University before moving to the University of Victoria. My friends through highschool did high level sports and I decided it was something I wanted to take up. I love the people.

What was your first rowing club and coach?
UVic Rowing – Aalbert Van Schothorst. SFU Rowing – Ryan Takagi

What or who was the earliest sporting inspiration you remember as a child?
Henrik and Daniel Sedin of the Vancouver Canucks.

How has rowing and being part of the Boat Race squad impacted your life?
This year with CUBC has already been the coolest year of rowing of my life! The depth and community on our team make it the best place to row in the world.

If you weren’t a rower, what sport do you think you’d excel at?
Distance triathlon.

What is your favourite non-academic book?
Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett
